If you`re bored in that old desk of yours and you can barely wait to get to the gym after hours or do some sport activities i think that your job isn`t quite the job for a fit, muscular person like you! If you like the rush of adrenaline running through your veins or working in a sporty way you might consider finding a new job worthy of your muscles.

Combine business with pleasure and believe me, you will never get bored going to the gym or doing sports because the job will need you to do that! At the age of 50 you will be a hunk .. Just think in perspective!

Example of jobs for muscular, fit people that like sports:

Firefighter
Hey backdraft lovers the average earnings for a firefighter job are around $45,000 even higher in big cities like Los Angeles or New York. Requirements for a firefighter job vary by districts, towns etc. but one thing is for sure: You’ve got to be in peak condition mentally as well as physically (fit).
A typical physical test:

drag a 165-pound dummy around an obstacle course

climb 180 steps in three minutes while wearing 50 pounds of weight so you need some muscles to succeed

Lifeguard
If you`re a strong fit swimmer you might be tempted for a lifeguard job where earnings start from $8 per hour. If you want to get the lifeguard job you must first pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. The test:

ability to swim 500 yards continuously

retrieve a weight from the bottom of a 10-foot deep pool so once again you need strong muscles for this job

Having a tan constantly and being around girls in bikini are just added bonuses.

Personal Trainer
The earnings from this job as a fit personal trainer are around $30,000 per year in most parts of USA. You can earn much more if you have a great, fit, astonishing physique and once you build up a regular clientele. All you need to do if you want to get this job as a personal trainer is to get certified because most gyms require at least one form of national certification. A CPR certificate is standard.

UPS Delivery Driver
If you`re a great lifter (do squats and work your arms to get some muscle mass) with excellent driving skills you can get this job and earn around $28 per hour. Newbies take a month of field training, where they get classroom which includes navigating the UPS van through cluttered streets and tight alleys for delivering speed. The job pays well and has great benefits:

senior drivers get nine weeks of paid leave

every day you get a workout from lifting, lowering, and carrying packages so you will have toned muscles, fit body

With all the youth including adolescents and children under the age of 18 belonging to different health clubs in America trying to get some muscle mass on their body, the question is at what age should those children and adolescents begin weight training?

The concern is that youth who weight train at a early age may injure their growth plates and that is the problem, the end of the growing bone.

So then at what age should youth including children and adolescents weight train to get muscles?

Girls in preteen period as children 10 years old

Boys in preteen period as children growing up to be adolescents 12 years old

If they`re old enough they can start strength training doing push-ups, sit-ups and similar exercises to improve their physique and muscles. Children can focus on weight training using free weights and/or machines, not the regular gym stuff. These are good ages to begin weight training so that concern of the injury to the growth plates may not be necessary. As far as injuries are concerned the same reasons that may cause a injury to an adult can result an injury for adolescents and children as well like getting muscles.. work out and u will get them, don`t and you will not have the muscles that u dreamed of.

Some reasons of injury are:

lifting too heavy

lifting without proper supervision

using improper technique

A word of caution to youth.. many times youth (children, adolescents) focus on developing muscle mass by bodybuilding, understand that youth (children, adolescents) don`t possess the hormones that are necessary to produce that muscle mass, so it is best to lift high reps and not heavy for starters! Boys who haven’t entered puberty would not really benefit from weight training because their body lacks those androgens necessary to gain lean muscle.

An adolescent who is going to start a weight training program should not just jump into a hardcore adult workout. The central nervous system in young athletes is still developing so their coordination and balance are not going to be as capable as in adults. So instead of focusing maximum weight or the number of lifts, the emphasis should be on executing proper form like i said earlier in the post in order to grow those muscles.

Actually Susanne Niederhauser was looking for a hobby as a change to the office job. Susanne was fascinated looking at photos with the trained bodies of “Anja Langer” and Cory Everson” from the beginning. When Susanne Niederhauser watched the first competition in autumn 1987 she knew that bodybuilding is her sport.

Susanne wanted to be a female bodybuilder and she wanted to compete some day. Eight years later this muscle girl did it.

Susanne Niederhauser`s weight at the first competition was 119 lbs. From that time onwards Susanne never stopped competing and since 1995 she have competed almost every year at least once.

Going from a streetfighter that was into the spotlight with YouTube clips to fighting with the top mixed martial arts organization in the world did not happen overnight for Kimbo Slice and his muscles.

Kevin Ferguson (Kimbo Slice) spent a few years climbing the ladder in fly-by-night promotions such as EliteXC before getting a chance to go from a cage to the Octagon.Although the heavyweight muscle Kimbo Slice does have a big name in the mainstream media and is a fan magnet with huge muscles and strength, the truth is that Kimbo is not a skilled MMA fighter.

Even training with America’s Top Team, a very well-respected MMA school in Florida – did not give Slice what he needed to become an all around fighter despite his strength in muscles. Sure, he can stand toe-to-toe to punch and bang but when taken to the ground, Slice’s game left a lot to be desired. Mitrione’s strategy was just that and doing so earned him the victory. At a age of 36, Slice will never have the opportunity that he did again. Being with the UFC was the culmination of Kimbo Slice (Kevin Ferguson), a streetfighter with a short career and he did not show he had what it takes to compete against the best in the world.

Look at Kimbo Slice in this next video from youtube, he looks like a sponge that gathers information from a topnotch like Michael Jai White that explains how to punch properly because a boxer is taught to be read from his moves when he throws a fist at someone. Michael Jai White also played a role in Undisputed 2 showing off a great physisque with hard rock muscles.

Let me begin today with a very short version of the movie “The Wrestler” that has love, pity, sadness, muscles, brute force and lots of injected or oral steroids: Years have passed since the glory of “The Ram”. The splendor, fame, fortune and applause have all faded away. Only the man behind the masked personality remains. Randy Robinson’s personal life is clouded with hard luck, personal demons, and the troubles of his past and present. Not all his battles are contained in the ring.

Mickey Rourke had a hard role to play and that was the role of an wrestler, a wrestler that once was very popular but now being a middle aged man, “The Ram” (Mickey Rourke) sees himself as a lonely person with no one in his life, just some muscles, steroids, a couple of old age wrestling matches and his blond long hair that he takes care of.. but those muscles are the subject of this post about Mickey Rourke and his steroid usage.

In the movie, after a heart attack in the midst of a hardcore match, on his successful and impressive come-back trail, the wrestling legend “The Ram” (Mickey Rourke) is firmly warned by a physician to make drastic changes. If Randy Robinson aka “The Ram” wants to continue living a longer period of time, he must abandon smoking, steroids and wrestling but he doesn`t on a short scale version!

The movie is very sad and gives you a perfect perspective upon life, steroid usage and hard, violent lifestyle. It is no doubt that Mickey Rourke worked hard for his role to gain that muscle mass. In fact, he had to train under ex-WWE wrestler Afa the Samoan.

As a answer for a question related to steroid usage, Mickey Rourke told the reporter:

“When I’m a wrestler, I behave like a wrestler.”

Later in the interview, Mickey Rourke said that he trained hard and did not use steroids or human growth hormones in order to improve his physical appearance meaning his muscles. He just used new heavy duty supplements. That is debatable though, if Mickey Rourke lied on steroid use or not, still Randy Robinson aka “The Ram” injected steroids in order to gain strength and muscles as seen in a video scene before training, in the locker room at the local gym, after buying some steroids from a friend that was also a steroid dealer.

What is Atrophy?
Well when you refere to it as an illness you`re probably right because in many cases atrophy is the partial or complete wasting away of a part of the body and it`s caused by mutations, poor nourishment, poor circulation, loss of hormonal support but it also appears when you don`t exercise your muscles and it`s called muscle atrophy.

Muscle Atrophy
Muscle atrophy as i`ve said earlier, appears when you disuse your muscles and it`s followed by loss of mass and strength. For example if you have a hand in a cast you force your muscles from the hand to limit their movement so the atrophy appears because the muscle is no longer needed for the daily routine of grabbing, eating, washing etc..

There are many diseases and conditions which cause atrophy of muscle mass except that lack of exercise, diseases like AIDS or cancer that are notable for the severe muscle atrophy seen in their process called cachexia.

Another disease that causes muscle mass atrophy is sarcopenia. This muscle atrophy disease is known through elders because as you age, you have a gradual decrease in the ability to maintain skeletal
muscle function and mass and that`s because the satellite cells which help to regenerate skeletal muscle fibers have a gradual failure, or a decrease in sensitivity of the critical secreted growth factors which are necessary to maintain muscle mass.

Treatment for Muscle Atrophy
Some of the treatments are common among us like exercising with progressive weight to rehabilitate your muscle mass and strength.
Other treatments for muscle atrophy includes the use of functional electrical stimulation to stimulate the muscles and it has seen some succes through paraplegic pacients, or amino acid therapy for regenerating damaged or atrophied muscle tissue.

Holly Van Remmen from the University of Texas Health Science Center (USA) is currently researching an experiment on mice modified to prevent them from having a protective antioxidant. As a result of the lacking antioxidant, the mice lose muscle mass and function at a much faster rate than normal mice.
Holly Van Remmen hopes to find alternative treatments for muscle atrophy and halt the process of sarcopenia.

At a age of 52 years, Dolph Lundgren has gained some fat but his chiseled physique didn`t go away that much.
These 2 photos were taken at the Mexican Riviera where Dolph Lundgren was in vacation.

In order to improve his physique and athletic abilities for the role of Ivan Drago, Dolph Lundgren trained intensely in bodybuilding and boxing shortly before the film was shot and weighed 245 pounds (111 kg) at his heaviest and had a lot of chiseled muscles.

In an interview with his co-star, Sylvester Stallone said about Lundgren: “During the filming of Rocky IV, Dolph had hit me so hard I had swelling around the heart and had to stay in intensive care at St. John’s Hospital for four days.”

Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago Video!

Still i hope Dolph Lundgren will be in great shape and have a great physique for his latest movie The Expendables .
In this movie there will be a lot of good actors such as Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and of course Dolph Lundgren.
It will be released on August 13, 2010 and Lundgren says “It’s an old-school, kick-ass action movie where people are fighting with knives and shooting at each other”.

So Dolph Lundgren is still keeping an edge over his age and i`m looking forward to see The Expendables (see his muscles and physique)

I don`t understand all the fuss debating on Arnold Schwarzeneggers body today.
Arnold Schwarzenegger in his youth, was a great bodybuilder no doubt, but when he announced that he will leave the bodybuilding world what did you expect?

He focused on other things than bodybuilding, like:

family

his career as an actor

politics

and i agree with him.

Now Arnold Schwarzenegger is 63 years old and still hits the gym regularly, but what do you think an 63 year old man can do? Not much i can tell you for sure, still he looks better than other people at that age. He`s an icon but the the paparazzi and the magazines forget about the fact that everybody gets old!

“The idea of a “healthy mind in a healthy body” comes to us from the age of classical Greece, 23 centuries ago. Theirs was a Golden Age which idealized the beauty of the human body and exalted the power of man’s mind. The power (or health) of an individual man’s mind is directly proportional to his conceptual range, i.e., the number of concepts his mind has integrated, how well he understands their exact meaning, and the number of logical connections he has made among them.”

Mike Mentzer

More Confusion from the Experts

“An increasing number of “experts” in the bodybuilding magazines are erroneously asserting that all training approaches invariably lead to “adaptation, ” something they deem negative, or undesirable; and use as a justification for moving arbitrarily from one system of training to another. In reality, in logic, adaptation is precisely what is desired. The purpose of imposing a high-intensity, anaerobic training stress is to cause adaptation, i.e., an adaptive response, i.e., stronger and larger muscles. Similarly, people lay in the sun to elicit an adaptive response; namely, the development of a suntan.”

A tricep injury can also be caused by repetitive movements (like throwing). Bodybuilders will usually get a tricep injury from lifting to heavy or not warming up correctly.

Warming up
Warming up fills your muscles with blood and prepares them for the workout. You’re triceps should be fully warmed up before attempting to start the heavy exercise.Try to warm up for 5-10 minutes using these exercises; bench press with no weight on the bar, push ups, tricep extension (no weight). These light exercises will get your triceps ready for your workout.

Types of tricep injuries
Basically, there are 2 main types of tricep injury: Tricep muscle tear and tricep tendonitis.

-A tricep tear is an inflamation of the tricep muscle, or in severe cases, the muscle is literally torn away from the bone. You are likely to get this type of tricep injury from lifting heavy weights without warming up.
-Tricep tendonitis is a repetitive strain injury. You will most likely get this type of tricep injury from repetitive exercises like throwing, hammering or playing tennis.

Risk of a tricep injury
Those at a greater risk of getting a tricep injury are males over the age of 35 and people involved in weightlifting or repetitive arm sports/jobs.

What to do if you feel tricep pain
If you feel a pain in your tricep muscle while working out, playing sport or just working stop what you are doing and see a sports doctor. A small pain could develop into a permanent tricep injury. So don’t try to fix it yourself, seek advice from a professional.

Tricep injury treatment
These are some common types of tricep injury treatment. Some severe tricep injuries cannot be cured. If you feel pain you still should seek medical advice. It’s better to be safe than sorry!
-Using an ice-pack during resting periods.
-Anti-inflammatory medication.
-Brace/Strap – This may be used to wrap around the lower part of your triceps during activities that cause discomfort or pain. It works by taking the pressure off the tendon.
-Surgical treatment – surgery is only performed if the tricep tendon is ruptured, not for inflamations. Optimal surgical results are obtained within 14 days of the tricep tendonitis occuring.
-Tricep rehabilitation exercises (see the exercises below).

Tricep injury rehabilitation
It is possible to rehabiliate most tricep injuries. Here are some light rehabilitation exercises to help build the strength back in your triceps.

-Kneeling push-ups: kneel on the floor with your hands directly underneath your shoulder. Slowly lower yourself to the floor and back up. Once you can do 2 sets of 15 without any pain, switch to normal pushups.

-Dumbbell kickbacks: Start with a really light weight and do sets of 20.

-French stretch:Stand with your fingers clasped together and your hands high above your head. Stretch by reaching down behind your head and trying to touch your upper back. Keep your elbow pointing towards the front. Hold this position for 20 seconds or so. Repeat 10 times.

If you feel any pain at all while doing any of these exercises, stop immediately and go back to your doctor!
